"plagiarism isn't a bad thing simply because it's an act of intellectual theft -- although it is that. It's a bad thing because it takes the place of and prevents learning."
I definitely agree that this quote found above is true because even though it is an intellectual theft is also takes the place learning time. If students are just plagiarizing other works and putting their name on it then why are they evening bothering going to school and learning. School was invented so that students will come out of it with a degree of education not for them to get an easy grade and not care.
If I had a further question about the information I would want to know the percent of students who agree and disagree with the quote.

Blog 5
http://www.stanford.edu/class/e297c/poverty_prejudice/mediarace/socialsignificance.htm
My next source that I will be using in my paper is entitled "The Social Significance of Rap & Hip-Hop Culture", by Becky Blanchard. Finding the credibility of a source is very important especially if you are using the source for a paper. Currency, Relevance, Authority, Authority and Purpose are five of the factors of the CRAAP analysis that help with finding the credibility of different sources. This source has many forms of good credibility. One is that the author and publisher of the article are both stated clearly on top of the article. Another huge factor of credibility is putting a work cited page clearly on the bottom of the page. This shows that the author gave all the credit to the original authors and didn't plagiarize one bit.
Response:
I think this is article is a very good picture of what the youth is dealing with everyday. These rappers and hip-hop singers put a number on teens lives and they have no idea that they are doing so. No one wonder why today's society is so corrupt it's because one influence's every one's lives. What people put in there systems is what they are going to think about and how they are going to react.

Blog Phase 4
http://voices.yahoo.com/is-hip-hop-responsible-wrongful-influences-177239.html?cat=4
The new source that I picked was from Yahoo Voices called "Is Hip Hop responsible for the wrongful influences in our children? This source was a blog written by an individual who felt very strongly on what her children listen too. This article gives real life stories that happened so unless she made them up they are probably true especially since she put names and ages next to the situations.
This source will be useful because in the other sources I talked about the negative effects on the youth from a medical perspective or a alcohol drug outlook. But this article provides the audience with real life situations mainly referring to why rap music is morally wrong for their children to take part in. One parent quote's secular rap music as the "devil" because it is so destructive and explicit it's not even funny.
Yahoo Voices article, "Is Hip Hop responsible for the wrongful influences in our children?, talks about the negative effects on rap music in a youthful atmosphere. The author describes hip-hop music as "music with an attitude."The article talks about how hip hop is morally wrong. Most of the situations refer to what the person writing the responses feels about their children acting the way the rappers act.

3rd blog post
My first article is, "Does music and lyrical content influence human behavior?" written by Kevin C. Liljequist.
http://www.positivemusicassociation.com/resources/article_lijequist1.htm
When I was reading this article I immediately noticed that it is a full credited source. This cite is packed with alot of useful information that has a ton of references in it. Also, there are alot of dates and different examples of songs in particular where the youth has been affected by the lyrical content.
This source will be very helpful in response of my topic question because it provides the essay with alot of different unique ideas. Also alot of sources I have found only talk about rap/hip hop music because the writers feel that rap is the only music that really hits the youth negatively. However in this source the author mentions artists like Marilyn Manson. The audience I think will really enjoy this source being put in my essay because it hits on alot of topics relating to my question.
My second article is, "Does rap put teens at risk?"
By :Sid Kirchheimer
WebMD Health News
http://www.webmd.com/baby/news/20030303/does-rap-put-teens-at-risk
This article is a great example of a highly credited source, This source is published by web MD which is a very famous publishing company. One reason why I know that it is credible besides the publisher is that the author gave credit to the source that he quoted from. Alot of authors don't even cite their sources so this is very important from the start.
This source will be used very well towards my essay because it provides the article with real life scenarios and surveys. In the article the author got information of a survey interviewing a bunch of black youth. He picked up that there has been alot of negative feedback in their lives that occurred from just listening to modern music a couple of hours a day three times a week. Real life scenarios are always good to include in research papers because it breaks up the essay.

1st post
My topic for this blog assignment is about the influence of Rap/Hip Hop Music on Youth. I'm picking this topic because I think it will be very interesting to research and I will learn alot about it that I don't already know. There are a couple thing that I already know about the topic. I know that alot of today's music is filled with explicit content including curse words, sex, drugs, women, and violence. This information can corrupt a youth's mind and life. I hope to learn the age group that is most affected by this music. Also I would find out the percent of youth listen to today's music, the artists who have a bad influence on the youth, percent of youth who change their personality due to today's music and much more. This topic pretty much relates to most people from parents to anyone.
